H2O have a long-standing contract with a large council portfolio in the Midlands, servicing thermostatic mixing valves (TMVs) across 250 schools, fire stations and council buildings.
We historically were only contracted to conduct two visits a year with another provider and the client’s in house teams carrying out the rest of the water hygiene compliance tasks.
Unfortunately, their other water hygiene contractor was underperforming…..
Poor paperwork, missed visits resulting in non-compliance and a lack of remedial work recommendations
All of these issues culminated into a very frustrating experience for our client.
The buildings they managed were not being serviced to the level that they required. Students, employees and visitors were all at risk of being exposed to Legionella bacterial due to this mismanagement.
Not only was there a severe compliance issue, but the contractor was not making suitable recommendations on improvements to their water systems meaning that the client did not understand what was required from a budgetary or health and safety point of view.
Once switched, our team of specialists immediately jumped into action, organising the upcoming quarterly visits, assisting the client’s site teams with any queries regarding compliance, working with the client to plan for urgent remedial work, all of this to assist getting the client and their sites compliant following the mismanagement.
The main thing that they needed was organisation – as they manage such a large portfolio, they needed to be reassured that we could handle it all.
We assigned the client with their own account manager, who organises all visits, liaises with the client regularly to keep them in the loop and makes sure that all communication is recorded.
